The BRIGADE - is an interdenominational Organization of Christian Soldiers in the Church. it was founded on - two pillars of (1) Religion and (2) Discipline with its programme of activities dwelt on St. Luke 2 verse 52. i has its Motto: Sure steadfast (anchor of the soul) chosen from Hebrew chapter 6 verse 19. in 1976, the then Diocese Youth Organizer Capt. A.K.A Yawson, organized for the formation of a circuit Brigade Executive Committee in each circuit. the committees comprising of the Captains and Lieutenants from the companies in the societies in the circuits, worked with the aim as follows:
- The formation of Brigade Companies in the rest of the societies. during the year 1978 when some companies were found to be defunct, the Diocese Youth Organizer thought it most expedient to form the Diocese Brigade council or shoulder the following responsibilities:-
- To receive the defunct companies
- To organize courses for the officers
- To organize annual Brigade Conferences.
During the year under review, the following companies of Boys and Girls Brigade existed
- 1st Kumasi Company (Wesley)
- 3rd Kumasi Company (Bantama)
- 5th Kumasi Company (Suame)
- 6th Kumasi Company (New Tafo)
- 8th Kumasi Company (Amakom)
- 10th Kumasi Company (Asawasi)
- 13th Kumasi Company (Kwadaso) Ahinsan prospective company
1st Obuasi Company, 1st Mpasatia Company, 2nd Mampong Company, 1st Konongo Company,1st Agogo Company, 1st Offinso Ahenkrom Company, Yeji prospective Company, and the rest 1st Sunyani Company, 1st Techiman company, 1st Wenchi company and 1st Kofiase Company.
