To the Glory of God, the Kumasi Diocese Guild was established in 1932 by the Rev. Chas Wesley Armstrong, the first Principal of Wesley College, Kumasi. With about 30 members as pioneers including Papp I.K. Agyemang, Brother Abbari, Sister Jane Gaisie and Rebecca Hughes, four of the pioneer members are still alive. in 1960s when Rev. M.K. Debrah was then the chairman of Kumasi District which comprised Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo Regions, Rev. Yarquah was in-charge of youth work in the diocese, while Bro. P.K. Kyei worked hand in hand with him. After Rev. Yarquah, the late Rev. Foh-Amoaning took over. Foh-Amoaning appointed Bro. P.K. Kei as his assistant and Bro. J.K. Appiah as treasurer. The Guild organised annual rallies at places like Berekum, Obuasi, Wenchi, Acherensua, Hwdiem, Mim, Konongo, Goaso and Agogo. Through these rallies, the guild was able to buy a generator for lighting purposes. in 1968, the Methodist Conference appointed Rev. Micah Edu-Boandoh as first National Youth Organizer. He stationed at Freeman College, Kumasi. While P.K. Kyei was D.Y.O. Rev. William Ofori who was at Old Tafo as catechist and Supt. Minister, Asawasi was appointed first secretary but as Chairman, while Brother Acquah was appointed Asst. Chairman.

The District decided to rekindle our activities in the form of music so we bought a brass band through an appeal to various societies in the Kumasi Metropolis, and an amount of GH 600.00 was realised. The Chairman J.K. Appiah contributed GH 1,400.00, to enable the Guild to purchase the instrument at GH 2000.00. The band brought a new turn in the guild and Kumasi became popular within the national Guild.

In 1980, Brong Ahafo became autonomous with Sunyani as District head. Rev. J.B. Danquah and Brother J.K. Appiah and Brother Owusu Bimpeh (Mr. 19) were involved and appointed Brother Adu-Danquah as acting Secretary for the Diocese Guild. at that time, the circuits had been reduced from 11 to 4; they were Kumasi, Bantama, Asawasi and Mampong; Rev. Twum-Baa the National Youth Co-ordinator was then the local secretary for Suame, while Brother Adu-Danquah was the President. From April 1983, to September the same year, the active circuits increased to nine, and the additional five were Obuasi, Konongo, Bekwai, Effiduasi and Agogo. by the 1986 Conference held at Mampong the number of branches had increased to 21. in the same year Brother Enock Tawiah of Amakom was appointed National Assisant Guild Chairman while Brother Adu-Danquah was appointed the National Assistant Secretary. At the 1988 Conferenced at Kwadaso, Brother Adu-Danquah took over from Brother E. Mensah Frimpong, while Brother Kwame Adu of Amakom was the secretary assisted by Sister Rose Owusu. in 1989, at the National Conference at Sekondi, Sister Rebecca Ampafo, the diocese Treasurer, vacated her post to sister Agnes Adade.
