THE RED PORCUPINE:
It's a totem of the Ashanti Kingdom, the porcupine is a symbol of tenacity as the animal fights from all angles. The Diocese identifies with this characteristic in carrying out its evangelistic agenda of going out to make disciples of all nations.
THE GOLDEN STOOL:
The Golden Stool is a symbol of authority and power of the united Asante people and represents the sovereignty of the Asantehene within Asantehene. The Diocese therefore takes cognizance of the authority of the Asante Kingdom in which it is situated.
THE WHITE CROSS:
(PLACED ABOVE THE STOOL & THE PORCUPINE)
The White Cross represents Christ who is the light of the world. The fact that it is placed on the stool is an acknowledgement of His sovereignty over all.
THE DARK CIRCLE:
(WHICH CONTAINS ALL THE OTHER SYMBOLS)
The Dark Circle represents the world of sin in which we find ourselves as believers. It also symbolizes our Connexionalism, thus the fact that we are linked together as Methodists.
