HISTORY OF ACHIASE CIRCUIT
The Achiase section was part of the Odumase Circuit of the Methodist Church Ghana and was made to join Brodekwano to form the Lake Mission which later became Brodekwano Circuit.
The current Achiase circuit was a section under Brodekwano circuit for some years, a section of ten societies which were ; Achiase, Anumso, Asiwa, Yapesa, Kokobene, Bobiam, Brofoyedru, Apantubuom and Freboye as the preaching post. The preaching post was established during the time of Very Rev. Agyei Boafo, about fifteen years ago (current year 2017) but was still not recognized as a society.
As at that time, The Lake Mission was made up of three sections: Brodekwano, Beposo and Achiase.
But an incident occurred that informed the leadership to task the Achiase section to start making preparations towards the attainment of the status of a circuit. This came about when some members of the Achiase section were engaged in an accident on their way to Brodekwano for a singing competition. One member perished through the accident. Achiase section then decided to part ways with Brodekwano and join Konongo Odumase circuit instead. The Rt. Rev. Major (Rtd) Christian Bonney (the then Chairman of the of the Kumasi district) came in to resolve the challenge but to no avail. Considering the location of Achiase section and Brodekwano Circuit coupled with the poor road network at that time, a decision was reached when the Achiase section was tasked to start making preparations for the attainment of Circuit status.
During a visit to Brodekwano circuit by Rt. Rev. Prof. Osei Safo- Kantanka (the then Bishop) in 2010, he again re-emphasized the need for the Achiase section to become a Circuit. And so during the Golden jubilee Synod held the following year (2011) at Offinso, the Re- demarcation committee placed the Achiase section to be considered for the preparation of a Circuit in two years time (2011-2013).
In 2013, the status of Achiase section was maintained at status B for another year but the green light was finally given in 2014 for the Achiase section to become a circuit awaiting Conference approval in August 2014 at Kumasi.
So on the 1st of October, 2014, Achiase section of Brodekwano circuit became a Circuit. The Circuit was inaugurated on 11th January, 2015 with Very Rev. Ebenezer Agyeman Badu as the first Superintendent Minister and Achiase Society as the Circuit head.
