THE ESTABLISHMENT OF LAKE MISSION BY THE METHODIST CHURCH GHANA IN 1970
Before the creation of the Lake mission by the Methodist Church Ghana in 1970, the existing societies of the Methodist Church Ghana were under Bekwai, Konongo and Achina Circuits.In 1970, the Methodist Church Ghana set up a committee under the chairmanship of Rt. Rev. Major Bonney. (the then District Chairman)
The Members of the committee consisted of the following people:
- Very Rev. Otchere of Bekwai Circuit
- Very Rev. Sakeyfio of Achina Circuit and
- The then Rev. Minister of Konongo Circuit
in 1972, Rev. Kwamina Amos was appointed the first reverend minister for the Lake Mission at Brodekwano to work with the other two Catechists. Ten years later the name was changed to "Brodekwano Circuit" with Rev. J.A Crinstil as the first superintendent minister with Mr. Abankro (Tutor at JAPASS) serving as the first circuit steward.
MINISTERIAL SEATS
Brodekwano as Circuit has four ministerial seats which are:
1. Brodekwano as Circuit Head
2. Beposo as Sectional Minister
3. Ankaase as Sectional Minister
4. Achiase as Sectional Minister
In 2013, Achiase section was allowed to form a Circuit with the following societies: Achiase (as the Circuit head), Anyanso, Anyinase, Anumso, Yapesa, Brofoyedru, Mamtubuom, Kokoben, Bobiam and Freboye.
SOCIETIES SELECTED TO FORM "LAKE MISSION/BRODEKWANO CIRCUIT.
Those that were selected from Bekwai Circuit include:
Asiwa, Anyanso, Anyinase, Anumso, Yapesa, Kokoben, Mantubuom, Bobiam, Freboye, Ankaase, Duase, Dompa, Esaase and Banso.
THOSE UNDER ACHINA CIRCUIT are Beposo, Konkoma, Brodekwano, Asisiriwa, Mim- Pipie, Obbo, Abono, Adwafo, Nkowi, Amakom, Adjaman with Achiase from KONONGO CIRCUIT.
